How to Measure Runout and Position Tolerance of Ball Screw Pairs:
1. Radial Runout of Bearing Block Relative to the Center Line of Ball Screw Groove
1) Place the ball screw in the same V-blocks on the bearing blocks at both ends.
2) Position a dial indicator vertically on the cylindrical surface of the ball nut.
3) Slowly rotate the ball screw shaft and record the dial indicator readings.
4) Measurements should be taken near both ends of the threaded section of the ball screw kit.
5) In some cases, this measurement is conducted using two center hole supports and directly on the bearing blocks.

2. Radial Runout of Journal Diameter Relative to Bearing Block
1) Place the ball screw in the same V-blocks on the bearing blocks at both ends.
2) Position a dial indicator perpendicular to the cylindrical surface of the journal.
3) Slowly rotate the ball screw shaft and record the dial indicator readings.

3. Axial Runout and Perpendicularity of Shaft Bearing Surface to Center Line of Bearing Block
1) Support the screw shaft at the center holes at both ends.
2) Position a dial indicator vertically on the end face of the journal.
3) Slowly rotate the ball screw shaft and record the dial indicator readings.
4) This method is identical to supporting the ballscrew shaft at the two bearing blocks, as the bearing blocks are ground relative to the two centers.
