Processing Methods of Large-Lead Ball Screw Nut:

1. Turning
The earliest method used for processing large-lead ball screw nuts is turning. The general technological route for machining large-lead nuts is: blanking → forging forming → rough turning of outer circle → quenching and tempering → milling of each plane → deburring → drilling and reaming of each hole → internal hole turning → finish turning of raceway. However, the machining accuracy of large-lead nuts processed by this method is poor and cannot meet the requirements of high precision. It can only achieve high precision through finish grinding or lapping on this basis.

2. Broaching of Large-Lead Arc Raceway
Considering the characteristics of the large-lead arc raceway, the technological method of "broaching raceway → quenching → lapping and polishing raceway" is adopted.

3. Milling
In recent years, high-speed hard internal thread cyclone milling machines have been introduced, which change the traditional processing principle of thread raceways. The tool holder does not need to be deflected but is parallel to the nut axis, and the cutting surface of the forming tool coincides with the normal section of the raceway. The section shape of the milled raceway is consistent with that of the forming tool.
